Highlights of Jinja High Court Circuit RCC Meeting

Today, the Jinja High Court Circuit held its Regional Coordination Committee meeting, chaired by the Head of Circuit, Lady Justice Dr. Nabisinde Winfred.
She emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement in dispensing justice and congratulated members on the successful hosting of the Principal Judge on the Court Open Day.
The Deputy Registrar, HW Mukanza Robert, stressed the need for coordination and cooperation among stakeholders
The Chief Magistrate HW Angura Fiona, reported on the DCC meeting's success and positive working relationships.
The Senior State Attorney Mr Atoe Moses representing the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, highlighted the Court's collaborative efforts. RPC Prisons Representative Vicuri George, advocated for criminal sessions to depopulate the prison. The RPC Police SSP Nsaba Charles, pledged police support for security and crime reduction. The RCID DSSP Monday Joanan, discussed funding challenges and plans for collaborative investigations.
The RCC meeting was sponsored by the Governance and Security Secretariat, represented by Mr. Namuli Bob and Mr Sulah Ngobi. They committed to continued support and deploying a Justice for Children officer to track pending cases.
In attendance; HW Kyampaire Dorothy, Assistant Registrar; Magistrates Grade I; HW Ochieng Yafesi, HW Natukunda Joy, HW Natukunda Julian and HW Khaukha Paul.
Advocates from Legal Aid Clinic and Justice Centers, Community Service Officer and other stakeholders participated.
